On Sunday, May 3, 2015, Faith Lutheran will participate with over 4,000 volunteers in packing ONE MILLION MEALS for ‘Kids Against Hunger’ at the ShopKo Plaza in Janesville.
The 1Million Meals is an event sponsored by Kids Against Hunger-Rock County Rotary, (KAH) As a 501(c)3 organization, KAH has been hosting food packaging events for years, here in the U.S. and abroad. Money raised goes directly into buying the necessary ingredients to make a healthy, well-balanced meal: rice, soy, vegetables, vitamin and mineral powder. Each bag of food contains six servings that, when cooked, will nutritiously feed a child for an entire week, or a total of six children! Every single dollar you give goes directly to helping feed people, not any overhead or organizational management.
Faith has 50 spots to help pack from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and anyone of any age, any ability, ANYBODY is welcome to volunteer and work alongside each other for this worthwhile event.
Sign-up begins Sunday, April 12 in the Gathering Space before and after worship. For more information contact the church office or see Evon Mitchell or Jason Poole.
